Did You Know?
Before sugar became common, maple syrup was a popular way to sweeten coffee. Its warm, rich flavor has been part of Christmas and winter coffee traditions for generations.

Trivia Question❓

Which country produces the majority
of the world’s maple syrup?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Winter mornings in Ohio bring cherished memories of family adventures and the simple joys of the holiday season.

One unforgettable childhood trip to Amish country stands out, where excitement peaked at the sight of horse-drawn buckboards waiting to carry us through snow-blanketed woods on a magical adventure that ranks as one of my most favorite lifetime memories.

And, to this day, the scent of maple syrup recalls that special winter experience, symbolizing the warmth, tradition, and the meaning of the holiday season.

Maple Pecan Coffee

Warm, nutty, and gently sweet, Maple Pecan Coffee tastes like Christmas morning in a mug. Rich coffee blended with smooth maple syrup and a hint of toasted pecan creates a cozy, comforting cup that feels both simple and special—perfect for slow holiday mornings or sharing with guests.

Serves: 1
Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

1 cup freshly brewed hot coffee (or espresso)

1 to 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, to taste

2 tablespoons half-and-half or heavy cream

¼ cup of pecan butter

Whipped cream, for topping

1 tablespoon chopped candied pecans, for garnish

Instructions

• Brew one cup of your favorite hot coffee. A medium or medium-dark roast works beautifully with the maple flavor.

• Stir the maple syrup into the hot coffee until fully dissolved.

• Add the cream and stir gently.

• Top with a generous swirl of whipped cream.

• Sprinkle chopped candied pecans over the whipped cream.

• Serve immediately and enjoy while warm.

Optional Tips

• For a deeper pecan flavor, add a drop of pecan extract or a pinch of toasted pecan pieces directly into the coffee.

• Prefer it dairy-free? Oat milk or maple-flavored almond creamer works wonderfully.

• For entertaining, set up a “Maple Pecan Coffee Bar” and let guests add their own toppings.
